[productsample/affiliatelink] If you’re looking for a fragrance that effortlessly captures summer, your search is over. There have been several manifestations of Light Blue for both men and for women, but Light Blue Sun is the best yet.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sun

The first spritz is coconut – something I love – wrapped in lemons. It sounds like dessert, but thankfully, isn’t nearly as sweet. There is some sugar (vanilla) there but your first thoughts and recognition won’t be that. There’s a blast of frangipani flower that makes the fragrance a little bit creamy, a little bit flowery and as it turns out, jasmine is coconut’s best friend in this creation. Although there is an ozonic accord I can only very lightly pick it up and not at all the rose, but amber and cedarwood are welcome balancers. It’s a truly summery perfume so if you’re looking for an olfactory companion to spend your july and august with, Light Blue Sun has to be contender.

According to the blurb, the brand invites us to ‘live the passion of a young summer crush’. Honestly, I’d rather not – I’d prefer to enjoy the exotic facets of the fragrance without excruciating memories of hormone infused holiday romances. Pass the Margarita.
