Every time I see a new DKNY fragrance, I marvel at the reinvention of the apple. And, here it is again – in the most awkward to photograph shape of all time! Whichever way you put it, it looks wonky, and that’s because it IS set on a slant. Plus, a mirrored lid is a blog photography nightmare – you can just see my hand sticking up with the camera as I crouch on the grass! Described as a floral fruity gourmand, Nectar Love is a steer away from the familiar/subtle difference versions. There is the floral background (jasmine, muguet, orange flower), and the fruits (mandarin, grapefruit and nectarine) but there is also a big waft of honey.
When I spritzed it fresh yesterday, I loved it, but the dry down was a bit too vanilla for me – it was a blast of sweet-fresh at the beginning but then it morphs into much more of a gourmand. There are a lot of notes going on in this fragrance – possibly it could have done with less to be a bit cleaner. I can’t ignore those beautiful bees on the bottle – what a pretty thing this is! Prices start at £40 (Perfume Shop from 2nd July) and I think it will be a summer hit.
