I’ve kept very, very few press materials (a lot of CHANEL but not much else) but this was a send out from either 2011 or 2013 for a re-release of Miss Dior. I just can’t quite remember which! It’s so beautiful I think you will see why I kept it.

As you can see, there is a miniature of Miss Dior EDP tucked into the staircase, surrounded by a meticulous cut-out of a stair case (I wonder if it’s supposed to be 40 Rue Montagne) and with a reference to the fashion arm of the brand, a dress form.

Even the shadows the wrought iron staircase casts are perfectly executed! Miss Dior first made an appearance in 1947 and was created to smell like love. The first ever bottle was an amphora style by Bacarat and the juice was yellow – very striking but you can understand why, three years later, the bottle was changed in 1950 to become more less delicate and more portable.
Anyway, I think it was the most beautiful send out I ever received and so it went into the box of keeps.

oh, gosh! Absolutely Beautiful
I was So excited about this launch.
Miss Dior being my (one of my) favourite perfume, ever.
Everything about it appealed to me. Until I sampled the juice.
I still find it unforgivable.
Nita.
Oh dear Nita!! Yes, modern takes just aren’t the same as the old ones.
That is adorable Jane. I’m really enjoying these posts. Is it nice for you too, revisiting these items from your collection?
It’s honestly so nice Lynn but a bit sad too – those really were the glory days of beauty I think and everything has changed so much.
