[affiliatelink/productsample] It may be a bit late to find the perfect summer fragrance, but none the less, I think I might have found it. I’ve actually never been to Thailand but been on enough sandy beach holidays to know that sense of relaxation that only the sight of a palm tree can bring.
This fragrance steers clear of the obvious – much as I love a fruity coconut scent, Koh Phi Phi focuses more on the floral aspect of being on far flung shores. Ylang Ylang and tuberose feature strongly but not heavily – there’s an ozonic back drop that freshens everything and a very light solar aspect too giving the floral notes a warm earth finish.
The initial spritz is sun-cream and sand before becoming a heady floral and settling eventually to more of the solar aspect. The settle is lighter than I expected because the opening gives you that holiday feeling and then some! It’s highly evocative – I can imagine spritzing this on a winter day and then wearing my summer smile because of it. Berdoues isn’t in wide distribution, more is the pity, but you can find it HERE for EU60.
