I’m really supposed to be not spending having had a flurry in the New Year sales but I couldn’t leave it. It’s black and white although confusingly the Mango site has it listed as blue in a cotton but styled with black leather(ette) trousers so I took the chance. It’s a cotton blend (70% cotton with viscose and polyester which makes it a very soft mix) and an oversize – the Medium is a perfect loose fit for my size 12 frame. The sleeves are slightly belled and it’s a turtleneck so doesn’t do the chin rub of a polo. The thing about it is that it’s a happy thing – made even more cheerful by a red lipstick – someone commented on Instagram that they love a red lip with stripes and never a truer word! I automatically went for a bright orange red (Chanel Rouge Coco Flash in Ferveur – not in stock in the UK but available in the US) although any brights work well. It’s still very new so I’ve only worn it with jeans so far and haven’t put it through a wash yet. It’s not as warm as wool but I can’t say I’ve been chilly. Anyway, I wanted to start the week with something fun and bright – I’m actually standing in my bath for most of these pictures just to give you a dash of realism not having the kind of house with a huge bathroom and multiple windows :-). Sizes go from XS to L and there’s no near equivalent in Plus Size just yet.
