Being a cardigan hater, particularly short ones, a cardi has to be pretty special for me to be persuaded. I bought this forest green, oversized version from Cos a few weeks ago and it didn’t actually appear on-line for me to show you until this week.
What’s perfect about this is the over-size, so it’s got the same comfort appeal as a big, cosy sweater that you can just shove over anything to warm up. Underneath, I’ve been wearing it at home with a white v-neck t-shirt, jeans and trainers, but also with my black waxed jeans and boots for work.
There are 3 colour versions, £59 HERE – the black speckled one is really calling my name but I have the polo neck sweater version of this from last year and wore it endlessly so I’m not sure I can justify. The cardi also comes in a colour that Cos calls chartreuse yellow and I call utterly horrible, but each to their own. Incidentally, the description is wrong as it implies that the green is speckled, but it’s only the black that is.
Cos does great knitwear if you find the right things – I’ve had two of their black oversize polo-necks, £59 (HERE) and the same in speckle as mentioned. Totally my sweater comfort zone but you can probably tell these pics of me wearing the clothes aren’t! But here we are:

Did anyone else go straight to the COS website to see what the chartreuse yellow looked like!!? I actually saw that colour in store the other day and I gave to say it’s much greener in real life…! I also do love a cardi…I like things I can I easily escape from if I’m too warm…must be my age!!
I’ve seen it in store too and still hate it. It’s what I think bile might look like ;-)))
I think that cardigan looks amazing on you so maybe your cardi unease is misplaced- although I agree on cardigan lengths. I don’t want them too cropped but as a smaller person, I don’t think they look right on me when they are too long either! I am also totally on the same page with that chartreuse green…ewww
Thanks Jo! The sort of cardigan I don’t like is the short, coloured ‘Boden’ type .. I just look terrible in them because they’re too close fitting.. I like loose, long and baggy!
That color looks great on you, Jane!
Green seems to be having a moment this year-end. I’ve seen some good sweater & coat offerings here & there. As it’s my favorite color, my husband has asserted a Right to Veto Paint Choices or every paintable surface in our house would be a variation on the green theme.
My husband is trying to veto grey! I’d have it everywhere if I could!
