[unpaid/affiliate] This is a bit of a mish-mash of a post but last night, on my way to one of the maddest events I’ve ever been to (with my long suffering friend Navaz (disneyrollergirl.com) – see below) I stopped by both Uniqlo and Anthropologie on Regent Street just to see what’s new. Uniqlo was really uneventful – I like ‘pared back’ but everything was just too between-seasons to be interesting other than accidentally finding the most comfortable underwear my bottom has ever had the pleasure of being in! I can only highly recommend the unremarkably named Women’s High Rise Briefs (they’re not particularly high – just below naval) and as soon as I’m back there I’m buying more!

I got a pair in the light pink (they call it natural and they probably shouldn’t) and a pair of the brown which are more of a taupe shade – both excellent for wearing under white (linen trousers maybe), depending upon your skin tone. They feel like a second skin – they don’t pull, grip or move (Marks & Spencer take note) and nor do they roll down or tuck up. Honestly, when you find the ones, it’s next level elation! I take a medium and I’m roughly size 12. They’re £5.90 each or £9.90 for 2 HERE in sizes XS to XXL.

These own brand Anthropologie candles are divine – the Apricot Jasmine is one of the most lovely candles I’ve ever smelled. It’s sweet with jasmine but has that distinctive fuzzy fruit note of apricot – so optimistic and sunny. The glass jars are beautiful – both the bowl (HERE), £28, and the jar (HERE), £34. There are three other scent options, Citrine Garden, Sea Balsam and Sol Tabac, none of which I tried because I was so blown away by Apricot Jasmine.

I think I might have already featured these little Kinska Face pots but they’re so much lovelier in real life that they’re coming back. If I was gifting, which I probably will, having a couple of February birthdays to buy for, I’d pop in a red lipstick before the recipient finds a plant or herb to home in it. I don’t have houseplants apart from my bonsai (which was a gift) because they feel like an onerous responsibility (the bonsai is like our third child, the amount of worry we put into its survival) and also, from past experience, having to give up a saucer as a water well is very annoying because they’re never the same after the inevitable demise of the plant. These pots come with their own ceramic water tray. They’re from £14 HERE in various faces and shapes.

Lucy has recently moved into her own place and I’ve been explaining to her how pointless little pots are one of the great homeware pleasures of adulthood. That and pointlessly small bowls (have a look at the next level pointless but completely desirable Berry Baskets HERE). I think keeping interestingly shaped jars is another but if you have more, please let me know! But, it turns out that the little engraved, lidded bowls above are for butter keeping. They’re £24 HERE. The mugs in the main picture were positioned exactly as you see them – it was too much good karma not to feature that picture! They’re £12 each HERE and hand painted. Stuff the right lettered one with some summer flowering bulbs and it’s the perfect flower pal gift.

And here’s where we ended up – from the sophistication of Anthropologie and the comfort of Uniqlo – to the launch of Hype x Hello Kitty. DJ, a Hello Kitty ball pool bath (jump in and have your picture taken – or not!), cocktails, donuts, bubble tea, and a pick & mix bar (Hello Kitty mini eggs). If you are with me on Instagram HERE, you’ll see that the celebrity visitor was Hello Kitty herself – much to the surprise of the waiting crowd outside who we suspect were hoping for a Love Islander. Anyway, it was hilarious – we were far and away the oldest people there – but still left after one bottled Pina Colada wanting the light up coat we’d seen on a Kawaii influencer. I don’t know why I was invited but it ended up being a very brief but extremely funny time.  Strange how you can feel out of place but in the right place at the same time :-). The Hype x Hello Kitty collection is HERE (no gifts, no incentives, just half an hour of kitsch bliss!).
