Accessory Wednesday: Play Purse

I am pretty sure I have an original little beady purse somewhere – these were an absolute staple in the 70’s and 80’s and the brand, Play Purse, have supersized them into proper bags and clutches. They’re all hand-made so they’re not the £1 little things we used to have – these have way more quality to them as well as capturing a moment in time and growing it up.

The Play Purse above is clutch size and is £25, while the top chain strap bag is £45. This is a small brand, so there aren’t currently thousands of bags – some are listing low stock already, and this is the new collection. Presumably, they’ll make more.

This one is also £25 – I love that the Hackney based brand got the colours just right by researching all the original designs and fabrics. Anyway, Play Purse is HERE. I’m as sure as I can be that these will be a ‘thing’ – we’re all about capturing childhood moments and making them happen all over again.

I had one of these when I was a child in the 80’s. I think this grown up version would look really good with lots of different outfits.

  2. I have one of their plain clutches and it’s lovely, I’m shit with handsfree bags though so use it as a bag organiser/makeup pouch instead. I’m so glad to see they’ve added to their range with something with a handle. Awesome, cute, simple brand, really love it.
