[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I rarely get involved with national beauty ‘days’ but last week it was national brow day and the arrival of a brand, spanking new pair of Tweezermans reminded me that I still have my original pair from at least a decade ago and they’re still going strong.

They’re probably my longest surviving beauty tool. They’ve been lost, found, borrowed and returned and remained relentlessly durable and reliable. As you get older, hairs pop up in unexpected places so I’ve never needed them more than I do right now – these winkle out every emerging intruder! Hello chin, hello weird hair that pops out from the side of my knee and hello mono-brow – all have met their match. Boots has an offer for buy one get one half price that ends today (Monday) so that would be the place to head HERE, non-affiliate HERE (I had to go to page 7 of the ‘products in offer’ to find more Tweezermans). A high recommend that I am happy to be reminded of. They’re £21.95 which doesn’t seem too bad for a decade of use. If you’ve had yours for longer, let me know!

Have you ever had them sharpened?
I have several old ones that just don’t have the grip anymore. It seems only Tweezerman in the States offer the free sharpening service.
I have read that an emery board or fine sandpaper will do the job though I have never tried it, has anyone?
I never have – hmm, I don’t know what to suggest. Hopefully someone else will…
Jane, Prepare to be disappointed – they’re now made in India and the quality is not a patch on the ones that used to be made in Switzerland. The steel is much thinner, the “pinch and pull” is not nearly as razor-sharp and accurate. I have returned three pairs over the past two years. Guard your ten year-old tweezers with your life.
Rubis are now my gold-standard.
Thank you for highlighting this – I honestly had no idea… I should have researched harder on this and your comment reflects what others are saying.
I still use the Tweezerman for Benefit Slant Tweezers which I think were released about a decade ago. It’s crazy when you think about it, I’ve carried them across the globe all that time!
The sharpening can be done. It takes around 10 weeks to be done though as an international customer as it is all done in the US. Think I’d rather invest in a second pair than risk losing my beloved Benefit ones!

You have to pay to ship them to the US.
I brought my first pair in boots a couple of weeks ago, having read for years that they are the ‘holy grail’ of tweezers for many people.
I am so disappointed, they sometimes take the visible part of the hair, but very very rarely do the pull the whole hair and root out.
Considering the price and reviews I expected so much more, back to my cheaper old ones
I’ve honestly never, ever had that problem. That’s such a shame.
I bought mine 17 years ago in Florida when I was on my honeymoon. Needless to say they have outlasted the marriage! They were a great purchase. Still grippy and no need to sharpen as yet.
Oh wow – that is GOOD last!
I have a pair of Ruby and Millie tweezers made by Tweezerman and sold at Boots from over a decade ago. Despite having been dropped numerous times (I know!) and used regularly over the last 14+ years, they still work as well as when I first got them! I’d cry if I ever lost them.
A close second are my Zwilling tweezers, bought on a trip to Hamburg many years ago.
Wow – that’s a long time – well done for keeping them so long!
