Rituals Advent Calendar 2016

Rituals Advent

In the strange old world of beauty where seasons are all over the place, my first advent calendar of the year has appeared! On one of the sunniest days of the summer as well. And even though it might be rather early, I’d say that the Ritual of Advent is going to take some beating.

Although last year we had a plethora of advents across many, many brands, I did notice they were a little bit ‘samey’… product repeats and predictable content. This one has amazing content – I haven’t shown the doors open because a sneak peek is one thing, ruining the surprises is another altogether! But, there is everything from body moisturisers (Honey Touch), hand scrubs (Miracle Scrub), shower gel (Samuri Ice Shower) and fragrance (Winter Perfume) to hot body scrub (Hammam Hot Scrub) and bed mists (Calming Bed and Body Mist). As an overview of the Rituals brand, it’s incredible. Clever as well from a marketing perspective – it crosses many of the Rituals ranges and showcases them beautifully.

I don’t have a price on it yet but I will update when I do, but I do know that it launches in October – a matter of only a few weeks away.

  1. I’m already looking forward to seeing what advent calendars are going to be on offer and getting my hints in to husband.

You used to do Christmas in July posts which I loved but these seem few and far between now. What happened to the sneaky peeks?

I did go to the M&S one and a couple of others but I just didn’t have time to get to very many this year.. it’s becoming less of a thing actually: many brands (such as the Lauder group) don’t do it at all any more.

I had the liberty one as a pre xmas presant last year and it was awful. Almost half the contents were face cleansers. There was no make up samples except one glitter nail varnishe and a eye brightener. I had two products the same (Kiehls shampoo) and another bottle that had opened and spilt in transit. Everything seemed chucked in. It seemed like £150 of samples. Very disappointing. I wrote and complained and their response initially was oh well, too bad. They did send me two more samples in exchange for the double shampoo and the leaked product.

Unless theres something that wows me and has a lot of variety, then I dont think these advent calendars are for me.

I loved the M&S one last year, so will keep an eye out for that again. I do like Rituals, so that could be good. My most disappointing was the Jo Malone one 2 years ago – sounds ungrateful, but there wasn’t enough variety. Duplicated fragrances and 3/4 of the same body creams. Think they could have mixed it up with bath oil, shower gel etc.

  5. This calendar is beautiful! I went for the Look Fantastic one last year but I think I’ll try and get my hands on one of these.

Does this one have a car freshener in it by any chance? The Rituals car fresheners are usually ace.

Just checked and no.. no air freshener.

      1. There was a car air freshener in one of the early beauty boxes I think? My mum loved it and keeps getting new ones for birthday and Christmas!

          That’s right!

  7. Oh! That’s going to be it – I resisted advent calendars for years due to their prices, but this one… OMG!

i can’t understand why this is not available in the states?!!
why do we live in such a cruel world!! this box is so lovely 🙂
