Oh, yum! If you’ve read this blog for even five minutes, you’ll know I LOVE a bath. I just find the whole warming immersion and release of tension so, well, fortifying, I suppose. I used to use bath time as thinking time but actually, these days, I’m more likely to be watching my iPad or listening to a podcast than just dwelling.
I particularly like this set for their descriptions – ‘a restorative bath to enjoy when overtired’ for example, because they help you to identify your feelings. I’m a lot about encouraging self-care – it’s so important and women, in particular, tend to care about everyone before themselves. Even just identifying that what you need, right now, in your bath, is something to restore or address tension and goes some way to being in control of your well-being. It’s a small thing, but I think it’s important. Plus, when does a few bubbles not make things better?!
Although I like the Geranium and Orange best because it’s familiar territory, the Aromatic Foaming Bath is quite a lively hit of lavender, marjoram and geranium that’s sharp enough to revive a tired mind. Seaweed & Arnica that addresses tiredness is hard to describe – there is a base of metallic iodine but it’s smooth, interesting and enveloping but who knows what arnica smells like? I don’t think I do.
There is also a shower version of this set if you’re not a soaker and I have to point out, the packaging is entirely cardboard (no plastic tray to hold the bottles) and the bottles are glass so it’s all recyclable. I know we are right at the start of buying gifts for everyone else right now, but I think this has all the credentials for a gift to self. It’s £24 HERE.
