[unpaid/ad/sample] I get quite a lot of requests for natural alternatives across the beauty spectrum so thought that Mitchum’s new launch would be of interest. Three new stick deodorants, all aluminium free.
There are three fragrance alternatives. Eucalyptus is more gentle than it sounds with a mild menthol fragrance, Cedarwood is rather fresh and I suppose would fall into the traditional category for men while coconut is the one that has caught my attention most by being very coconutty. So, coconut is more coconutty than eucalyptus is eucalyptusy if you see what I mean!
The fragrances are all botanical oil extracts and the formula uses bamboo powder to absorb any sweat. There are no added phthalates and it’s cruelty free and vegan. It terms of performance, I haven’t put it to a big test (slow walking 16 year old Honey doesn’t tax my armpits!) but I’m wearing it today and so far so good. The last time I used a stick deodorant was many years ago and I’m surprised and pleased to discover that things have moved on. There’s no residue feel when you apply – it feels light and I suppose a bit powdery where I was expecting it to feel wet. I don’t know why I chose Cedarwood to do the day long test but all I can say is I keep getting wafts of my dad which to be honest is unsettling :-). It’s available in all the usual places for £4.49 (Boots, Superdrug – also Ocado but I guess they’re busy enough).
