L’Occitane Karité Bébé

[productsample/affiliate] Oh, it’s been such a long time since I reviewed or even looked at any baby products so this is completely a treat! Karité Bébé is a new collection from L’Occitane – karité means shea so the products are based around that particular ingredient and for us it’s called Shea Baby.

Karité Bébé

First up, Cuddles & Bubbles Foaming Cream – a gentle and creamy body and hair wash. Everything is made to a 95% natural ingredient recipe, although ‘tested under paediatrian supervision’ is a bit woolly for my liking. I’d have preferred to see something with a bit more authority but I think we can be reassured that no brand in the world wants skin reactions on babies so it’s all fine for your average baba. The scent (and yes, it does contain a little bit) is soft, comforting and clean – like line dried washing. Lovely & Gentle Moisturizing Milk smells a bit more of shea – I can’t smell anything other than that milky-skin kind of note with a dot of sweet freshness and my goodness, it’s softening on the skin. That needs putting in an adult format pronto!

Karité Bébé

My favourite thing is the Shea Baby Fragranced Water – it’s alcohol free obviously. No surprise that it contains orange blossom notes which I love, alongside neroli, linden blossom and mimosa. It’s a fresh linen, clean sheets and cotton wool kind of a thing … it’s how you wish babies still smelled after they start putting fromage frais in their hair and jam on the dog.

It’s a luxury priced range, starting at around the £18 mark although the Fragranced Water is £35 (yikes) but really, it’s quite lovely. You can find Shea Baby HERE non affiliate HERE.

Not sure if I’m being an idiot here, but what is the Fragranced Water for?
    Surely not perfume for babies??

Yes exactly that – it’s a real French thing – a lot of brands do fragrance for babies …

Gosh yes…..I’ll never forget the 1980s release of a French baby scent in England….’P’tit Scent Bon’. I was obsessed with it (when I was having a day off ‘Giorgio’, at friends’ request!
I’m an orange blossom addict too Jane…..dashed into L’Occtane to sniff this and ‘Herbae’ today. Want both, gorgeous, but blimey their prices are a bit much, considering how accessible they once were (about 15 years ago)
. I find it hard to take their €€+ leap to this level in the market, though it’s pretty stupid of me.

Hope they know that your reviews help to convince one to bite the bullet.

I hear you – I have also complained that their fragrances are too expensive …

BUT also, save yourself for the Jo Malone Orange Blossom Hair Mist… it is DIVINE!
