[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I briefly mentioned the MAC advent in yesterday’s Frosted Fireworks post, only for it to arrive about half an hour after I’d pressed publish! So, it’s getting a whole post of its own because it’s such good value, visually splendid and believe me, it will sell out in super-fast time.

I’d only seen pictures of it folded out and thought it was kind of cumbersome without then making the next thought that it might fold up! Which indeed, it does, into an elegant and slim fan shape.

Visually, the icy pink packaging is shot through with iridescence but it’s not overtly ‘Christmassy’, if you see what I mean.

Inside, the compartments are segmented into cake slice shapes and er… my geometry is failing me here… other shapes so they all stay together. I will say that once you’ve taken the contents out of your daily shape, put it back in the box! I made the mistake of closing it with some pieces out and then literally, it was like doing a jigsaw to get it back.

The ultimate ice and a slice!

The contents are a mix of full sizes and small sizes (who doesn’t love a mini MAC lipstick?) and I can see they are carefully selected to be a variety of neutrals with some stronger colours in the mix for make up adventures.

I never show complete contents just in case you are buying for yourself and would like the element of surprise, but they’re all listed on the MAC site if you want to see. But, roughly, there are lipsticks (one full size), glosses (one full size) shadows, mascara and fixers. The value is over £300 – for a cost of £125 HERE – which I think is startling value from MAC. As I mentioned yesterday, these are already starting to crop up on eBay which is always an indicator of expectation of high demand which is why I suggest not hanging around if you would like one. I don’t believe in hyping up products but just going from past experience with advents that I didn’t think would sell out because they were so expensive (thinking the £300 Dior one, and of course Liberty), I have been properly caught out! I love this because it’s genuinely good value, relatively discrete and full of products that you’d actually like having.
