I’m the first to look incredulously at prices and cry, ‘how much?’ But, there are some exceptions that deliver so completely that you might be tempted to sell your cat (please don’t!) as a fund-raiser.

Dyson Dryer

Dyson Hair Dryer, £299. Of all the luxury items I’ve featured over the years on BBB, this is the one I get the most questions on. Yes, it’s completely worth the £299 asking price. Quiet, fast and somehow extra hair smoothing, I would never now be without it and should something terrible happen to mine, I’d buy it back immediately. It’s HERE (with a free travel bag).

Bobbi Brown Mini Lipstick Set

Bobbi Brown Mini Lipsticks, £99. This set is a John Lewis exclusive and so nicely done. The formulas are Luxe Lip which is creamy and non-drying and there is some kind of joy in a mini lipstick that just doesn’t happen with a full size. You’ll find a 10 shade line up in the special box – if you’ve wanted to experiment with colour and change things up a bit, now’s the time. It’s HERE.

Aromatherapy Associates Ultimate Wellbeing

Aromatherapy Associates Ultimate Wellbeing Set, £60. With 10 9ml bottles of bath oil in this set, it’s got you covered for all eventualities. Of all the aromatherapy brands, AA does it better, consistently, than any other brand I’ve used. If you drop Deep Relax into your bath, you will come out deeply relaxed. If you’ve got sore muscles, a few drops of DeStress Muscle sorts you out and if just need to feel nurtured, Support Equilibrium has you covered. Ultimate Wellbeing is sort of a survival kit for how we live. Lovely. It’s HERE.

Illuminage

Illuminage Youth Activator, £240. As you might imagine, I hate the name of this but as a piece of equipment that will bring firmness and smoothness back to your skin, I hear nothing but good things about this. One of my friends said she saw a difference in her skin firmness on Day 1. It works on Radio Frequency, Red Light and Infra-Red which all work together to boost collagen and smooth the complexion. At £240 you need to committed to the programme and prepared to use it as often as required (you need to top up with the serum which must be used with the device fairly frequently). It’s not hard to use (I’ve given it a try) at all and you can do it in front of the TV. It’s HERE (you get £40 of Boots points).

Becca Skin Shimmer Vault

Becca Shimmer Skin Perfector Vault, £160. Becca started doing skin shimmers and introduced the notion of make up glow and sheen almost before anyone else so they have locked down the art of skin-beam. If you love your sheen, the products are all of the quality and will last and last. Shades are Pearl, Opal, Prismatic Amethyst, Moonstone, Rose Gold and Rose Quartz. It’s HERE.

Shiseido Future Solution LX Ultimate Regenerating Serum

Shiseido Future Solution LX Ultimate Regenerating Serum, £285. I’ve been trialling this serum for a sponsored post (this isn’t sponsored of course) so have got to know it really well. It’s hands down the best serum I’ve ever used – like an instant velvetizer for the complexion. It’s a rather technical formula – inhibiting Serpin B3 (that damages cells) – allowing cells to grow healthily and strongly. In terms of the look of skin – softer, smoother, more vibrant and more radiant. It’s HERE.

Marc Jacobs On The Prowl Set

Marc Jacobs On The Prowl Set, £99. Frankly I’d run at this and beg them to take my money! I love Marc Jacobs make up – it’s such good quality and glides onto your skin. In this set you’ll find the Eye-Conic Palette in Glambition (warm browns swatched HERE), Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Ro(Cocoa) (dark brown) and Blacquer. There’s a Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir and Le Marc Lip Crème in Slow Burn, a warm nude. It’s HERE.

Dior Lipstick Set

Dior Rouge Precious Rocks Lipstick Set, £120. One special edition Rouge Dior Bijou Lipstick in 999 Matte (red, of course!) and five refills in Ambitious Matte, Classic Matte, Poison Matte, Rouge Zinnia and Promenade all tidy in a Dior make up bag. Definitely a lux lippie lover’s dream gift! It’s HERE.

Bio Effect Award Winning Skin Care Set, £295. If I was picking for myself from this list I’d choose this first followed very closely by the Dyson. As far as I’m concerned, BioEffect just hasn’t been bettered in terms of giving skin radiance and glow literally overnight. It contains EGF (epidermal growth factor) and a heap of hyaluronic that does nothing but plump and hydrate. This set contains ‘boosters’ that you use for a month alongside the regular serum. It’s HERE.
