YSL Northern Lights 2012 A Closer Look

Funnily enough, the YSL Northern Lights Collection looks much better in real life than in the promo pics which leave it looking really rather flat. My instant favourite product is the wonderous top coat, Premiere Neige, that leaves ultra fine shimmer in pinks and blues twinkling on your nails. When it catches the light, it really is like light bouncing on ice.

Despite the fact that my finger looks like it belongs to a 90 year old (hand cream, anyone?), you can see it glimmering both on the nail and on the paper behind. I’d be tempted to put this over nude or even white. It’s £18 HERE

The Pure Chromatics in a very pretty grey sequin bag is in real life far more multi-dimensional with shimmered pigment that is ultra twinkly. It’s definitely a very glamorous piece and I love the colour combinations. It’s £39 HERE
and the highlighter palette below also comes with the sequin bag.

Once again, it’s hard to catch the sparkles in this Lipgloss (£22) but it is beautiful, awash with irridescence.

The Northern Lights Collction is on sale now at Selfridges.
