YSL Kiss & Love Collection

The YSL Kiss & Love Collection is just a joy! For a start, it’s a fairly small collection so there aren’t oodles of options which I really like – sometimes you can’t see the wood for the trees on big and complexion beauty collections. The Kiss & Love Multi-Usage Palette (£59) might not have the most glamorous name (Multi-Usage?!) but it’s pretty spectacular to look at. It’s roughly the size of an iPhone and that’s quite a clever thing because many of us are so used to feeling that in our hands that when you pick up the palette, it’s an immediately familiar and comfortable feeling. I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure your brain will be sending positive subliminal signals when you hold it…

Inside, it’s all things sleek. I know that many beauty lovers don’t like the mix of powder and cream in one palette, and there isn’t a way round the fact that this does contain both. I personally don’t mind it, but I do think that at least the creams (lips) should have some kind of cover to keep powder off.

The shades inside are best described as useful – there’s nothing to rock anyone’s world but the gold-bronze to brown edit with a baby pink blush is easily wearable.

For lips, it’s a creme Rouge Volupte formula with shimmer (argh); they’re not glossy, but more of a creme sheen lipstick.

It’s really the lipsticks that have stolen my heart! The Rouge Pur Couture Collection Kiss & Love editions are just gorgeous with their embossed lips design. There are four shades to choose from – I have Le Rouge, a smack of red. They’re £26 each which I think is expensive but it’s the perfect girlfriend gift so I can see them selling and selling.

Finally, there is a collector’s edition of Touche Eclat.

I’ve never really got along with Touche Eclat, so personally, it’s the least interesting thing, but if you’re a fan, it comes in two shades, Lumious Radiance and Luminous Ivory (£25). The YSL Kiss & Love Collection launches on 4th November. I think this collection will do really well on looks alone – everything about it is impactful from the get-go.

When will the Kiss and Love lipsticks become available, Jane? Are they exclusive to a particular store? Also in US Sephora they have an exclusive shade 71 Black Red: which UK retailer is going to do this vampy shade? Thank you and best wishes. Julia
