YSL Holiday Look 2011

I’ve got to admit to unseemly squeaks of excitement when I saw these gorgeous limited editions from YSL Beaute. Again, it has the majorly talented Lloyd Simmonds behind it, paying homage to the iconic garmet of Yves Saint Laurent, the Tuxedo. The two palettes here come wrapped in a fabric belt embroidered with the YSL logo that can be worn around the wrist.
Palette Noir Terriblement, £39

This shadow in five shades and textures comprises Black Velvet, Black Silk, Black Moire, Black Lame and White Satin to really tie in fashion and beauty.  You might quite rightly wonder just how much black an eye can take. Lloyd suggests, “The best thing is to choose your black and use it as a base, applied with a flat brush. The ‘smoke’ it with a round brush and blend until the edges are invisible.”

Palette Smoking Blanc Complexion Illuminator, £39

This illuminator contains three shades of almost white. Shimmering Silver, Shimmering Violet and Shimmering Pink, all lit up with twinkling pearls to catch the light.

Also appearing are a nail polish duo, Duo Terriblement Noir, one glossy black and one matte black, £24, as well as eye shadow duos and a Shimmering White Gold Gloss Collection that I’ll show at a later date. These launch exclusively into Harvey Nichols on 29th September and nationwide on 19th October.
