[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Last year, my lovely neighbour told me that she’d bought an advent calendar for her elderly mum that she’d seen on my site and it had gone down a storm, proving that you are never too old to reap the joys of a perforated window with a treat behind it. I’d cite the William Morris at Home Advent Calendar as one that will feel both new and familiar to all sorts of people but the more exposure you’ve had to William Morris, the more it will resonate – and that is, in my view, age dependent. I know I don’t need to explain here the who, what and why of William Morris but I’m sure we all know the famous Strawberry Thief!
I rather love this reveal of patterns – my in laws had 22 all over their walls for years. Everything inside is bath or body, divided into scents. Heathcote & Ivory have created a Strawberry Thief fragrance comprising amber, sandalwood, berries and bergamot so it’s just right for winter fare. Jasmine & Green Tea is as it sounds with a dash of freesia, while Geranium & Eucalyptus is the is embracing and warm. White Iris & Amber is a mellow floral. The fragrance isn’t strong – it’s there enough for an initial experience hit without lingering to ruin your daily spritz of something else.
You’ll find mini hand creams (perhaps too many!), a full size hand cream, bath fizzers, hand and body wash, bath salts and bath foam so everything is useful and easily used up as well as focussing on relaxing and wellbeing rather than beauty as such.
Everything is cruelty free and vegan and there are 24 windows. If you have Amazon Prime, it’s free delivery and – maybe the best bit – it’s £40 HERE which is a bit of a snip compared to others that I’ve seen.
I can think of several people in my family and friend circle who’d love this advent calendar that’s pitched to a different audience than many. I mean, beauty doesn’t have an age but thinking about presenting my mum with this or Boohoo’s version, I know which wins! Non-affiliate is HERE.
