Obviously Olay have used up the quota of just-about-presentable beauty editors in their quest for ‘honest’ advertising and have had to cast a wider net to find the next level of ‘believable’ faces to punt the brand. I’ve just spotted Fiona Philips featuring in an Olay ad….no wonder she jumped off that sofa so quickly. It’s got to be an easier way of bringing home the bacon than getting up at 4a.m. every day. But hang on…..surely Twiggy has just been named the Face of Olay? Olay are obviously just storing up a bank of 40+ blondes reckoning that looking ‘good for your age’ is a great selling point. Twigs had her own skin care line sold through Asda up until a few years ago and is notably an exponent of products that haven’t been tested on animals – let’s hope that someone at Olay has told her that they used Butylparaben, a cosmetic preservative, that was tested on animals, in several of their products*.
