Whaaat? How Much?? Serge Lutens Make Up

And I thought Cle de Peau was expensive. Meet Serge Lutens Make Up available at Harvey Nichols in London. Check the picture of the lipstick very carefully – it is literally the size of my little finger and the image above is of the lipstick bullet twisted entirely to the top of the casing – I’d say the amount of actual make up you get is roughly a third of a normal lipstick. For this, you pay £53. However, top ‘HOW MUCH???’ slot for me is the Serge Lutens Blush at a cool £111. *Faints*. For those of you who have had a recent lottery win, you might be interested to know that Serge is adding a new mascara to the range – Mascara Oeil pour Oeil and its something of a snip at £36.

Oh, and referring back to my previous Cle de Peau post, today’s exchange rate on www.xe.com, $60 is £39.2640.

  2. DEAR GOD.

That’s insane. I love him but I love my purse more 🙁 xx

That’s insane! Have you tried the products? I’m not quite sure how good they’d have to be to get me to spend that amount of money but for me they’d have to make me look so good that people would think I was Gislele’s better looking sister.

  4. WHAAAAAT?!!!

    Faints

That’s crazy! I’m willing to fork out for his fragrances, but this is ridiculous. Is there anything particularly special about the products?

I’m with ‘Primp and Preen’ on this – if they make me look like Halle Berry’s better looking sister then maybe. Otherwise – NO WAY!

  6. Well, my Muscs de Koublai Khan was well over E100 so I suppose it’s what you’d expect. A gift so I don’t know for sure.
But I wouldn’t pay silly money for a lippie. I got a great Revlon from a a market stall for a couple of squid.

  7. I have seen the collection Berlin, but I could not test it – all behind glass (wth??!) and I have to say it looks very elegant. I think I would… but only when I am 50+ and use only three products and do not experience anymore.

I didn’t like the origina Lutens comb mascara, it was too dry but the new one, Oeil pour Oeil is amazing. I tried it at Barney’s New York, at home my boyfriend asked me what did I do to my eyes and said I looked sexy (he’s a guy who never so of course I went back to the Lutens counter, I had to buy the new Lutens mascara. I also got the eye makeup remover, that too is a stunning luxurious product, my mascara is gone in just one simple wipe.

I have been using the Kohl liner ($75) since February and I am unsure. I almost took it back. Sometimes I talk myself into loving it and other times I feel that my $25 Mac gel liner stays on better on the inner lash line. I need something reliable for the entire day. The Mac liner does not budge. The Kohl liner smudges a little.
