Victoria Beckham Beauty Gift Set

[unpaid/sample] To my own surprise, I’m a fan of Victoria Beckham Beauty – the products are just the most beautiful quality and it feels like a brand that’s aiming to sit at the top of the luxury tree. There are lots of celebrities bringing out their own products but this is one where no attention to detail has been missed. I asked for an update because there are plenty of things that are new (lipsticks, lustres and liners) and received this gift set so I’m not any further forward on that to show you, but in fact, I think the set represents the make-up gift you could give in confidence to literally anyone and that’s quite rare.

The packaging is beautiful – and not overtly ‘festive’ – just stylish and pared back. The contents are Future Lash Mascara, Satin Kajal Liner in Cocoa and Posh Gloss (plus a little sharpener for your kajal).

I’ve used the Future Lash mascara before and absolutely love it – I swear it’s the blackest mascara on the market. It’s got a skinny brush so you can coat every lash perfectly and goes on like a dream. It’s interesting that they claim it as ‘sweat proof’ rather than water resistant – I’m not prepared to break out a sweat to find out if it really is! But I don’t find it smudgy or difficult and the formula includes a lash conditioning agent. I’ve used the Kajal in black – it’s a delight and on a par with Pat McGrath’s kohl in that it delivers a deep, deep colour for inner rims or smudging for a smoky eye in a way that feels like liquid velvet. It’s boosted with panthenol, chamomile and Vitamin E.

Posh Gloss is the one product I haven’t tried before (see previous reviews HERE) – it’s a clear, non-sticky and cushiony formula that can be worn on its own as a final flourish for a natural look or over the top of any tints or matte lipsticks. I like to use clear gloss as a base for making any colour gloss I feel like by crushing a bit of lipstick and blending them together – I do it in the palm of my (clean) hand. So, the set is reduced on the VB site from £74 to £52 HERE but still seems to be full price elsewhere. I don’t know if it will arrive in time for Christmas but this is definitely a nice treat to self and would be a very lovely birthday present any time of year.

I have bought 3 of the Victoria Beckham satin kajal liners now – Cocoa, Bronze and Navy Noir – and I love them. The quality is superb and they feel like silk. I’ve never been a fan of VB, I think her fashion line is comical quite honestly, but with her cosmetics line I feel she is finally onto a winner and is doing something she’s actually good at. I hope she gradually expands the line as I’d love to see more.
