The sales always seem so beguiling, don’t they? And yet, when you’re rummaging through racks of tat you wonder why you didn’t stay home and watch Netflix instead. Many, many retailers are in a bit of a panic because of our warm winter – bottom line is that coats, sweaters and cold weather clothing won’t shift because we’re quietly boiling in our centrally heated houses. So, lots have gone into sale early (statistically, Boxing Day is the biggest on-line sales day) making now a very good time to stock up on basics that you’ll wear all year round.
Kicking off with this little blazer from Mango at £39.99, reduced from £69.99 HERE. I love the nippy waist on this and it’s going to look as good over a t-shirt as it does over a sweater.
This is a cotton blend coat, so if you’ve always wanted to be the person who has a ‘spring coat’ but have never quite been able to justify it (I have spent so many Aprils either too hot or too cold!) the sting is taken out a little because this one is reduced from £89.99 to £69.99 HERE.
A leather biker has always fallen into the ‘secret want’ category for me. I have a beautiful suede one (now I think about it, also from the Mango sale in the summer) but it hasn’t quite filled the biker desire gap. This is pretty much an all year round jacket – wear it with white, denim, black… anything really. It’s reduced HERE from £119.99 to £79.99.
White shirts are like gold dust in sales because they’re bought all year round, rain or shine. This is so my kind of white shirt (to join the 8,000 already in my wardrobe) because it’s loose, roomy and goes with absolutely everything (grey skinnies, if you have them). It’s reduced from £34.99 to £29.99 HERE.
Speaking of! I’ve found these reduced from £39.99 to £24.99 – I have two pairs of grey skinnies; bit of a departure from my black trouser addiction, but they’re more flattering than I thought they’d be and Mango skinnies tend to be quite roomy and not too low cut or overly long in the leg. They’re HERE.
No wonder there aren’t many sizes left (no L or XL) in this leather blazer.. as soon as I’ve finished this post, I’m ordering it (to wear with oversize white shirt)! It’s reduced from £119.99 to £79.99 HERE.
Yes and yes! The secret to see-through shirts, if you don’t actually want to show your bra (or your tummy!), is a nude coloured string strap t-shirt (HERE). I love the beaded collar detail on this to ring the changes. It’s reduced from £34.99 to £29.99 HERE.
