And here it is, the first view of the newest Urban Decay Book of Shadows inspired by New York city. And just in case you thought nothing could be as good as Alice, this one lights up! It’s full of quirky characters and detail such as the NY Coffee Guy and a Soho Fashionista, walking amidst LED-lit landmarks like the Empire State and Statue of Liberty. It’s not out til September though so plenty of time to save the £30 it will cost from Debenhams.

Although I love the pop-up aspect of the BOS, I have never liked the bulkiness of the packaging, I wish it did not have a drawer system (I mean that doesn’t really make it a book, does it?). I cannot deny that their shadows are lovely and for the price it is well worth it, but I hope they don’t dupe many colours from previous BOS.

It’s not grabbing me on first sight. The artwork isn’t as much to my taste as the previous three. Not sure how many more boxy BOS’ I want on my dressing table either. Buuuut if the colours are a) nice and b) original I might splash out on this. And yes, please please no more Midnight Cowboy.
