A few weeks doesn’t seem a long time to wait for a very luxurious treat. The new Limited Edition Chanel No5 Essential Bath Oils is cleverly ‘tri-phased’ so it looks absolutely amazing. Whether I’ll ever be able to use it and lose the ornamental value is still a moot point, but I can tell you the upper phase contains Ylang Ylang essential oil and sweet almond extract; the middle and lower phases are more watery, allowing the oil laden upper layer to stay at the top. Just can’t help feeling it’s an essential decandence – to fill my bathroom with No5 laden fumes to whisk away the strops of the day (of which there are normally many). £59 from October 23rd.

See, that’s the problem with gorgeous beauty products. You never want to use them so they grow dusty and every so often you blow of the collection of mites that have fallen on the lovely glass bottle and stand back admiring the beauty of the item that makes you so proud every time you look at your bureau. I am a collector of fragrances because I am a beauty writer and have received over the years stunning freebies. I reckon I have over 100 bottles. I never want to use them up, because I adore how they look stacked up on my table in neat rows from the glam (L’Artisan) to the nutty (Jean Paul Gaultier busts). I can’t bear to touch them. So, I know how you feel. I’ve not paid for beauty products in a long time, but I think it would be even harder shelling out the dosh and then having to watch the tincture go away. But, I guess you have to have the attitude that another one will take its place. Sighhh……..beauty……………it can torture the soul, eh? 😉 xoxoxoxox oneof365

Gorgeous! And far too elegant to actually use. I suppose you could use the product up, then refill the bottle with water you’ve tinted with food colouring? Not quite the same? No, I suppose not. C’est la vie.
