So, an update on the 7 Day Smooth (I’m on day 6). I’ve clarified that you don’t particularly need to use the shampoo or conditioner (lovely though they are), the real deal is the Tresemme 7 Day Smooth Heat Activated Treatment (£6.99) that wraps hair in polymers that bond under heat to form a bond between the themselves and the hair surface and therefore – you hope – keeping your hair smooth.
The weather this week has certainly put this to the test – wind, rain, fog – you name it, we’ve had it. I would say an honest breakdown of the product would be that it’s fantastic until day 3 when it’s effects begin to dwindle, but my hair was distinctly easier to tame back into smoothness again using either my dryer or straighteners. Just a quick woosh and it all went back to smoothness very easily. Now, on day 6, it’s effects aren’t nearly as noticeable, but I’m really impressed with how it took the hassle out of re-styling and that for three days, all I had to do was brush it and it was straight back into shape with no frizz or fly-aways. I think a full week is pushing it, although I’m not at day 7 yet, but I’ll definitely use it again when I wash my hair tomorrow and hopefully set myself back to day 1.
Look out for it launching in January at Boots for £6.99.
