Trend Alert: Semi Permanent Mascara

Watch this space for news of a brand new procedure that isn’t as expensive or time-consuming as lash extensions. Semi Permanent Mascara is a new technology that uses a coating paste that curls, adds volume lengthens and colours the lashes and lasts for between two and four weeks. It’s applied as a paste similar to mascara over the lashes and each lash is then separated by hand to give a spiked and defined look. It’s completely waterproof (wedding, anyone?) and the dried coating is antibicrobal and flexible. I’m thinking this is next year’s biggie.

And, while I’m on trend predictions, it’s totally a hunch but a Camellia scented nail polish from Chanel? If they’re not on it, they should be.

  1. A friend of mine had it done last week. It looks fab, natural but gorgeous!

  2. LOVE the sound of this. i like mascara but hate taking it off so usually go without (just dying and curling lashes).

  3. The thing is though that camellias generally don’t have a scent in nature. There was some fuss about this in the early ’90s (might have been the late ’80s – can’t quite remember) when Chanel released Un Fleur de Chanel which was allegedly camellia scented but was in fact a fairly blah thin white floral.

There won’t be a camellia scented polish from Chanel as Camellia has no fragrance 😛 which is why Chanel chose to wear them; they would not compete with her scent. Chanel perfumes often use gardenia instead, so perhaps they should do that?

  5. OK I concede..no camellia fragrance. Maybe they could just do a little No5 instead..that would be acceptable 🙂

  6. Hi there, a new seli permenant mascara is to be launched at the scottish beauty show, by Glam Lash, also known as Caledonian Therapy academy, I am a trainer for them and am very exited about this new product, sounds great!!
