Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette

Maybe I’ve just seen the Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette too many times already on social media, because it’s definitely not my favourite Too Faced Palette. I like Too Faced as a brand; they’re quirky and inventive with how they present their products but I think the shades in this small size palette are very difficult to wear. If you’re a cool toned gal, forget it.

You can see all the shades names in the palette – apparently the shade Peanut Butter became a bit of a thing on social and the palette is based around that colour. I love the idea of a pop of ‘jelly’ with the purply shades but somehow can’t see myself wearing it.

This swatch is of the larger shadows from bottom to top: Extra Creamy, Bananas and Spread The Love.

From bottom to top: Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Cup, Peanut Brittle, Jammin, Jelly and Nuts About U. And yes, there is some fall out, although if you are using a very soft brush it’s not quite so much. I used a harder brush in this instance to get the colour intensity in the swatch so it may not be fair to say that fall out is plentiful. However, these are very saturated, gingery-bronze colours and Peanut Butter, Peanut Brittle and Nuts About You are all rather similar.

Ultimately, it’s fun – it does smell of sort of peanuty although it’s more vanilla-chocolate to my nose – but filled with tricky colours. In terms of ordering, things get even more tricky. Not only is there at £16 postage charge, but also duty and taxes. It’s not really a viable option to have this product shipped from the US to the UK, so you have to wonder why it’s getting any mentions at all. As it happens, it went live yesterday and is listed as sold out today – I know they had a wait-list for it – but for a product that’s all about the fun, the joke is on Too Faced this time because there is nothing that annoys consumers more than being over-charged on shipping and being prepped for a product that sells out in 24 hours. Nobody’s laughing this end.

I’m glad you aren’t 100% on it, I was all set to buy it until I seen the £16 shipping fees plus the vat. My exact reaction? F**k that. I love it, but no, there is a limit and they have really offended me by not releasing this properly in the UK, or at least making the shipping reasonable. I’m glad it’s all gone now, my heart is broken but my bank account isn’t!

Someone was asking about this palette on the Debenham’s Beauty Club Facebook page. Seems Debenhams will not be stocking it, which is sad.

  3. That palette is so pretty!

I agree, was all set to buy it until I saw the ridiculous shipping charge! I wonder how they can justify this when Sephora and Beautylish offer shipping for a much cheaper rate, or even free if you spend over certain amount!

  5. I fail to understand why still to this day international brands release items in one place of the world but not another. I totally get limited items but not limited items to a specific place.

  6. Stumbled upon your blog. It is amazing! Too Faced palettes are usually pretty good x

Aww I was actually looking forward to this one after hearing it does not smell of peanut butter (thank the lord) but not making it available in the UK is ridiculous – I will not be paying an extra £16 despite it being a nice warm pallete

I actually tried place an order for this (a birthday present for my sister, who loves warm-toned eyeshadow!) and annoyingly they wouldn’t let me check out, saying it was unavailable for international shipping. It was very frustrating to keep checking their site until they listed it, to go through the process and then not be able to check out. What is the point of a website that says they post to the UK, to not post to the UK?

I think this happened to me with the Vegas Nay pallette, If I remember correctly, it allowed me to order it the following day!

I cannot wait to get my hands on this one! The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes have been among my favorite eye shadows in recent years. I absolutely love that “Peanut Butter” shade and hit pan on it a while ago. I’d actually contemplated buying another Chocolate Bar palette — that’s how much I love this color. That said, I am sorry to hear about the peanut butter fragrance. Hopefully, it doesn’t linger. I do wish that Too Faced would make individual shadows, but I suppose one can’t ask them to be less greedy when the palettes are selling so well.

  12. I was so excited about this palette as I love adding a hint of purple to my normal nude eye makeup as it’s meant to be the colour to wear if you’ve got green eyes like me, but the shipping costs are ridiculous! I’m not too sure how I’d make warm ginger tones work with lilac without looking like an In The Night Garden character….! xx

The colours look nice but not anything I’ve not already got in my collection! x

I’m so gutted this isn’t coming out here in the UK. My love of peanut butter is famous among friends; it’s like my signature sarnie. I have green eyes and gravitate towards coppers and purples. This palette was *made* for me.

The shipping and other costs take it up to about 60 quid which is insane. It’s so not worth buying for that price. Why is this being pushed so hard when most of the planet can’t buy it?

These colors are super awesome! Too Faced makeup brand is totally worth getting and their makeup usually lasts a long time!

What annoys me is that too faced have sent this palette to a few UK bloggers and yet make it stupidly difficult for the rest of the UK to get it.
    The shipping fee is ridiculous.
Too faced need to realise that the UK market may not be a big as USA n Canada but it’s big enough.
I’m so glad u swatched it on here as it’s making me see that I could probably use what I have to make similar. N hopefully a certain UK brand will make a dupe of it 🙂

I really have to think about featuring Too Faced at all any more – it’s crazy to expect anyone to pay those shipping charges. I need to ensure that the products are easily available before posting because there is no point otherwise.
