[unpaid/purchase] The brand TIRTIR might have scraped into the corner of your recognition for their Red Cushion Foundation which caused a mini TikTok melt-down. The brand – TIR stands for Truth In Radiance – was founded by Lee Yu Bin in 2019 and has gone from strength to strength but really started to fly when they upped their shade number in the Cushion from 3 to 40 within one year. That is a magnificent scale up!
Lavender and purple hues are having their moment in the beauty spotlight just now so I picked up this TIRTIR My Glow Lavender Lip Oil to test the look out in the most gentle of ways. I am not ready to do a Pat McGrath for Dolce & Gabbana bright purple lip all over again.

If you’re yet to try a lip oil, the texture is like a gloss but non-sticky and (usually) contains ingredients that are beneficial to the lip skin rather than just being about shine and colour. In this instance, lavender oil does the heavy work along side jojoba seed oil, tocopherol, honey extract and propolis extract (so, not vegan friendly).
I somehow expected the oil to smell of lavender but it doesn’t – it’s lightly and generically sweet. What you might notice is that it give my lips a kind of grey wash rather than lavender – that’s very typical for this colour and I love it. It’s the daytime vampiness I didn’t know I wanted. This is very subtle – I’d probably, for other than day to day, wear a very dark eye and give my lips the subtleness that’s needed for that. Superdrug has introduced a third party seller category to their website, and you can find TIRTIR HERE – the oil is £15.99 (cheaper than Beautybay where it’s £20 something).
