Thalgo and Institut Esthederm: My Holiday Essentials

I’m off on a much needed break next week and in the run up to my holiday I’ve been using Thalgo Bronzing Activator twice a day. I absolutely love this product because not only is it getting my skin nicely moisturisered and stimulating melanin so that my skin is prepared to meet the sun, but it is scented with a gorgeous coconut smell that reminds me every single time I use it that a holiday awaits. It’s lovely.

I know that tanning divides opinion – I do like to tan though in a controlled way and have come to realise over the years that a light tan is a pretty as a baked one..in fact, prettier. For the past couple of years I’ve used Institut Esthederm and haven’t even come close to burning. It puts my skin in such good condition that by the end of the holiday, I’m brown and my skin is in exceptionally good nick – moisturised, soft, silky and supple and it makes my tan last longer. It’s really expensive but in this case, I feel the result justifies the price. Institut Esthederm doesn’t carry an SPF as such, but enables the skin to protect itself by stimulating melanin. It’s all I ever use on holiday and I think I’m hooked for life!

However, I do realise that tanning isn’t for everyone – I’m lucky that I have olive skin that likes the sun, but as always, tanning has to be done safely. If your skin is fair or burns easily, then don’t take any risks, ever.

I like the sound of the Thalgo product. My body skin is in serious need of some equally serious moisturising pre-Summer. Assuming of course that we actually get a Summer this year.

I don’t know where your off to for a break, but have a fabulous time!

  2. I avoid baking as such but if I am walking about on holiday I don’t mind a tan but have a min of SPF30 for body and SPF50 for face. Have a lovely lovely holiday! x

Loving the sound of this – is it good for faces too? That’s the worst part of being in the sun when you have acne-prone skin is having to put sun cream full of goodness knows what (but probably not goodness) all over your precious sensitive face.
