The Tanda Skincare System

I’m just about to start trialling the Tanda Skincare System that uses red LED light to provide anti-ageing and skin-improving benefits and is the latest to enter the hugely lucrative ‘beauty gadget’ market.

Here’s the promise:

75% of Tanda Regenerate users reported an immediate benefit in hydration;
92% of users reported softer, smoother and more raidant looking skin, and
88% of users saw an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (after 30 days).

Those are some high stats. I’m going to begin using it this week but will have to take a break when I go on holiday for a week because I’m using my packing space for shoes! Sometimes taking a break from a treatment is the very thing that convinces you that it really is working. It’s when your skin starts to return to normal that the evidence shows, so I think that in itself could be useful.

Light therapies are kind of complicated and I’m not 100% sure I even understand it myself, so here goes with an entry level explaination from me!

Light therapy is a treatment method using specific wavelengths of natural light energy to restore skin’s normal activity. Tanda Regenerate uses red light to improve signs of ageing, and Tanda Clear Acne Light Therapy Treatment benefits (apparantly) acne breakouts and prevents further outbreaks. Red LED (light emitting diodes) light has been proved to reduce lines and wrinkles, by stimulating the skin to make more collagen and increasing the skin’s ability to heal, and at the same time regulate fibroblast acivity. It’s also thought that red LED can slow production of enzymes that make skin lose strength and firmness.Blue LED light has been proven to kill P.Acnes bacteria, making it especially useful as a therapy for acne and spot prone complexions. Light therapy is a treatment method using specific wavelengths of natural light energy to restore skin’s normal activity. Tanda Regenerate uses red light to improve signs of ageing, and Tanda Clear Acne Light Therapy Treatment benefits (apparantly) acne breakouts and prevents further outbreaks.

Regenerate comes with its own light optimized (free of light reflecting ingredients) serum (this is an absolute down point for me – I don’t approve of any gadgets that require you to keep on buying into the system for ever, other than maybe batteries!). I’ve pre-checked reviews on Sephora and it seems to be a true ‘marmite’ product; users seem to either love or loathe with no middle ground. In the UK, both will retail for £225 and it is intially exclusive to Harvey Nichols.

So, watch this space!

    I have never heard of the Tanda Skincare System. I will be really interested in what you think.

    So did the Tanda Skincare System work??

  6. Hi Gilly..to be honest I am doubtful about it. I can’t see any real difference, and to be fair, it just becomes such a pain in the end to use. What seems like a quick couple of minutes over time feels more like ten! And you have to keep moving areas on the face. I think there are better gadgets out there. I haven’t tried the blue light for acne which I think might fare better in terms of giving a tangible result. x
