[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Suddenly, there are a lot of new mascaras! The whole mascara game has changed in the last ten years – it’s unusual to get a bad one these days although I did find Maybelline Sky High in Burgundy absolutely dreadful and am not very fond of the new No7 one either – it’s just wishy-washy and meh. Sweed is new to mascara, and make up in general actually because prior to their cosmetics release their main focus was lashes.

Sweed Cloud Mascara Review

I’ve just given Sweed Cloud Mascara a try out and really liked it – both the brush and the spiky lash effect.

Sweed Cloud Mascara Review

This type of bristle spacing and length is very good at coating each lash. There’s so much precision to getting the right amount of formula onto the lashes from the bottle – in fact I would say that the little widget that you have to pull the brush through is probably the most important part of your mascara. It’s responsible for over or under-load and inevitably, the end result. The blackness of the mascara is deep – again, another change over the years is that this ultra black comes almost as standard whereas back in the day, very black mascaras were labelled EXTRA black and so on.

Sweed Cloud Mascara Review

There are two mascaras from Sweed and I’ll review the other one another day, but the description for Cloud Mascara is limitless length and extra volume. But, I am not sure it delivers on either and I’m going to say that is a good thing! I don’t want lashes to the moon or even extra thick lashes – I just want well-defined, well separated, black and spiky looking lashes and it’s an absolute result on that criteria. It’s water and flake ‘resistant’ – by the end of the day there was no smudging or flaking and in fact, it looked pretty much the same as it did when I first put it on in the morning so I think it’s a win.
