SpaceNK Party Piece Cracker Set GWP

SpaceNK Party Piece Cracker Set GWP

As we all know, a £300 spend in SpaceNK is all too easily done! I’m currently testing out some of the May Lindstrom range and you could easily drop the required amount to qualify for the crackers on a few of those products alone. That’s before we’ve even thought about the Diptyque Christmas candles (also coming up in a review), the SpaceNK Advent Calendar (£250 with £600 value HERE) and the stocking fillers. I always think though that beauty crackers are a great office Christmas lunch or girl’s night out idea- they get everyone chatting immediately.

So, you get 12 crackers and the value of the set is £500. I’ve been on the phone to SpaceNK to double check the value and the amount soon starts to add up so it’s not an inflated value. Included in that value is the £25 gift card which personally I think should be kept by the person who buys the set!

Inside each cracker you get an assortment of luxury sample size products or a single product as well as a beauty tip and a crown. No jokes though :-(. I’ve listed the full contents below but if you feel tempted to start your Christmas shopping and get a treat for doing it you’ll need to go HERE and soon (enter PARTY18 at checkout). I say this because I have already been caught out by the Elemis Advent Calendar and their 10K waiting list which turned out to be true and they’ve all sold out – the same for Feel Unique. I thought I would be too early in October but no – these things don’t stick around.

I admit I got this last week. I was told it only ran from the 1st-3rd November but I see the crackers are still available. Reading different forums people are split between those who want and bought and those who think it is not that great value and the spend to get it far too high. Even a member of staff in my local branch admitted she thought it was too high a spend to get the crackers. I know I buy every year and it was two £25 gift vouchers and more full sizes in previous years. The only full size is the Algenist Lip product. There have been so many Advent Calenders this year from different stores and companies you nearly need to decide which you really want and will use.

I agree with you Donna… I questioned the content value and we went right through the price list of the products and sure enough, it does add up to £500 but whether it’s £500 of things you really want it another thing all together. x

I look at these sets and think of all the wasted packaging materials that are unlikely to be recycled. It’s so much more than if I got four full-sized products I would actually use. Plus I’ve found after the early excitement, many of the products may not suit me personally, that my friends don’t really want me to be gifting them my surplus, and they sit in a closet somewhere. I know it’s hard to say in the beauty world and I’m not always practicing what I preach either, but I am really beginning to wonder about those of us in civilized countries who use an astronomical percentage of the world’s resources simply because we can. While I may never hit pan on an eye shadow or use up a bullet of lipstick at least I do use them and can somewhat justify the packaging, mailers etc. But do we really want to be cutting down forests in a world driving towards climate change just to gift ourselves endlessly?

I just bought my years supply of Aromatherapy Associates bath oils. £300 on bathing products sounds crazy money but £1 a day for a nice relaxing bath? First world luxuries.

I bought the crackers in 2017, but not this year. I think the £300 spend is too high and last year the gift card value was £50 with a lower spend. There are some nice products inside but too many tiny samples and perhaps not enough from the more poplar brands. With so many offers and calendars the choice is overwhelming; not all my friends would want beauty gifts and there is a limit to how much money you can spend on yourself at Christmas time, when you are buying gifts for others. It is very nice to get a GWP but I think Space NK and a few other stores should lower the spend and improve the gifts.

  5. Neither I or the many other working single mothers that I know can easily spend 300 pounds on beauty!! That’s ludicrous. If you can good luck to you but the majority of us cannot.

You’re right.. it’s set for the luxury market and a different budget comfort level than most of us!
