Sleek MakeUP VIP Lip

There are some very hot new shades from Sleek MakeUP in terms of lips – less so for eyes, but I’ll come on to that in a mo. The new Sleek MakeUP VIP Lip is a vivid collection of brights in a semi-matte formula. So, a little bit more forgiving than ultra matte, but a low shine.

You know what I really like about the VIP lipsticks? That you can see the colour through the bottom. It just puts to bed rummaging through your make up bag and taking caps off lipsticks to make sure you have the right one. I know lots of brands do this now but it does make you wonder why everyone doesn’t.

My least favourite thing? That they put the colour names on a sticky label on the side of the lids so when I took all the lids off for photography (without noticing the labels) I lost any chance of knowing which colour is which. I’m going to try and stumble my way through though! First shade is Flaunt It, followed by Private Booth, Guest List, Night Spot, Reserved and Backstage. They’re £5.50 each HERE.

There are also two palettes – both neutrals which I’ll swatch up later, BUT, Sleek is known to be a brand for all tones and the palettes make me thing they’ve lost direction a little bit on that. I hope not, because deep tones are not well catered to in the UK so this brand needs to stay on message more than ever.

Yeeeesss! I am so glad it’s not just me who noticed Sleeks lost their way slightly in terms of catering for women of colour. I remember when Sleek used to only be available in black hair shops on the counter, cheap and a bit dodgy lol but still all shades for women of colour were accessable. Now whilst I’m all for diversity I do find them lacking at times. And whilst those colours you swatched are very pretty I doubt I could wear any shades with ease.x
