I’ve got a couple of the palettes from this collection to swatch – I’m so impressed with them. They’re the kind of make-up fix that gives you that beauty shiver – every time I open them I love them more! Everything, from presentation to colours to texture is just about perfect in my view. I’ve taken pics in sunlight and in shade.

I’ve swatched the first two shades because they are SO shimmery and light-catching – the others are more matte but are perfect companions. Above is the Mint & Vanilla Palette.

Above is the Raspberry and Mocha palette – again the first two shades in the line-up swatched.

There is still one more palette that has my dream shade which I will swatch when I get it… Orange and Pistachio. These palettes launch on 26th of August for £50 each.

  1. ahh!! I have been scouring the internet for photos..these palettes look amazing! I really can’t wait, plus it would be worth around £76 if you got a custom palette with similar colours..

    Have you seen the lashes?

  2. These look gorgeous…there’s something about cosmetics that are given that bit of extra something and the fact that these look like chocolate boxes just increases the appeal!!!

I’m quite light on information on these brand new Chocolate Box palettes from Shu Uemura price-wise but think they’re launching in August, but haven’t got so excited about a colour selection for ages. My pictures aren’t amazing but they’ll give you the general idea until I can get some proper press shots.

They’re just so pretty and a good mix of high shimmer and matt effect shadows. The top one is Raspberry & Mocha, to the left is Orange & Pistachio and on the right, Mint & Vanilla. I got completely wowed by Orange & Pistachio, especially the sparkle-shot orange, which to my eye looks more of a tomato red. It is quite stunning. I’ve attempted a swatch but the camera struggled to pick up the shimmer. Basically, it is heavy on the gold with the orange/red tones coming through underneath, even though it looks like it should be the other way round from looking at the palette.

I think you can catch the orange slightly better in this swatch.

There are also accompanying lashes, two Glow On Blushes and a whole lot of new Rouge Unlimited lipsticks in both Supreme Matte (cleverly matte but moist) and revitalized shades from the regular Rouge Unlimited range.

Another shade that really caught my eye but wouldn’t be caught properly by the camera is from the new Textures range in a Silky Smooth Eyeshadow: it goes on irridescent but does that thing of changing or uplighting if you put it over another colour. It’s just gorgeous.

To complete the newness line-up in colour are some creamy shadows and brand new glitter shades in the pressed eye shadow range.. and they are supremely glittery. Honestly, this is a wow collection.

  2. I love that irridescent ‘silk smooth’ eyeshadow (I adore irredescence). Where in the UK can I get it? House of Fraser have some Shu, but no eyeshadows online, it seems.

  3. These are gorgeous palettes. I haven’t really used products from this brand but now I really want to check them out. 🙂

  4. Awww I wish I’d have known you were going to this event as I was there myself and would have just loved to have met you in real life. Loving the Shu palettes.
