Shopping The Sales: Cashmere
It’s not so long ago that I used to do a twice monthly fashion spread for a newspaper – I have to say I hated doing it and it basically killed my interest in clothes! But, slowly, slowly, I’m coming around to it again so I’ll be doing one or two fashion posts every week from now on, bargain hunting where possible.
I’ve taken far more notice of the sales on-line this year – maybe because I just never get the time to shop even though I pass shops all the time! But in summer sales I always try and get some knitwear for winter – it’s the best time for things that aren’t fashion-y but are just really simple and wearable. I’m not really a ‘statement jumper’ kind of person! Anyway, I took on an ambitious project a couple of years ago – to turn all my wool wardrobe into cashmere and slowly, slowly, I’m getting there. The J Crew sweater (ironically still double the price on J Crew) is half price at Net-A-Porter HERE for £132.50. I LOVE it.
Hold on… a silk and cashmere sweatshirt? Yes, please. This is also hugely reduced from £212 to £127.20. I always find you should go up at least one size with cashmere – it’s so expensive that designers are inclined to be a bit stingy.
I bought this a couple of months ago (pre-sale..argh!) and I wear it ALL the time.. the back is a silk panel and it bridges that winter/summer sweater thing perfectly. I thought it was grey when I ordered it but it’s more of a nude/ecru shade and it’s brilliant with jeans or black skinnies. It’s reduced from £99 to £79.20 HERE. It’s a rotten image of a sweater that is absolutely lovely.
