Shiseido Softeners

Where have I been half my beauty life? I’ve discovered a major knowledge gap because I had no clue these beautiful skin softeners even existed. How that happened is anyone’s guess (there are probably about 20 of them whizzing about in the same votex as the press releases I can never find). Shiseido softeners are pre-moisturising treatments a little like toners and Shiseido maintain that the non-stripping liquids replenish moisture and help skin to be more receptive to the next skincare step. The one I have is Benefiance NutriPerfect Pro-Fortifying Softener for older skin that needs a bit of a boost.

Whether they’re necessary or not, they really do add a softening, moisturising element, and if you love the ritual element of a skin care routine, it’s definitely one to add. Everything about it appeals to me right down to the subtle and gently floral scent.

It’s £53.

  1. I had no idea about these types of products either x

Best way to apply is to saturate a piece of cotton with the softener and then peel off thin sheets and apply to your face. Sort of like a sheet mask. Remove after 5/10 mins and moisturise.

Shiseido does a brilliant 5-ply facial cotton that’s specifically designed for that use…

It’s bound to be special if it’s Shiseido. I would love to try their products, but their beyond my bijou budget.

  4. I am SO glad you posted this! I read something about these ages ago and couldn’t for the life of me remember what they were called, so I pretty much gave up the hunt. I’m really pleased I found this blog, cheers m’dears xx

I understand your love. I find toners so harsh on my skin especially because most of them on the UK market contain alcohol so I mainly stick to lotions and softeners. There’s a slightly cheaper alternative at £30 using ‘the skincare’ line from Shiseido which I’m currently using.

Also Dil’s suggestion is highly recommended method from the shores of Asia!
