All the big stores (especially in London) vie for exclusives that are sold in their store alone. It’s usually a whole brand that will be in-store and on-line exclusively (a la Charlotte Tilbury) or a special product from a brand that’s generally readily available and that one product is only for a particular store – you won’t be able to buy it anywhere else (other than sometimes the brand web-site, which is no good for a general one-stop shop). You’ve got to hand it to Selfridges, because generally, they do get the best exclusive scoops. I’ve done a quick round up of product you can’t buy elsewhere, but other stores will have their own exclusives too, so it’s always worth a little bit of internet research to see who has what.
First up, the glamoroous Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Box (£50, HERE) that contains one nude and one red lipstick – the formula is the ‘CC’ Colour and Care so it’s balmy feeling but has the intensity of lipstick. Brilliant for people like me who can’t wrap anything that isn’t square or rectangular without making it look – literally- rubbish! Shove a ribbon on this, and that’s the job done!
Next up is the deluxe NARS Guy Bourdin set – NARS Christmas always sells out completely and the deluxe set has an exclusive feature – a Guy Bourdin book signed personally by Francoise Nars. There are only fifty of these for sale. The other products are a full-size Larger Than Life Lip Gloss and two deluxe samples: Aigle Noir Soft Touch Shadow Pencil and Gold Digger Larger Than Life Lip Gloss, obviously all wrapped up in the pouch. It’s £75 HERE.
There are one or two Stila sets like this one, the Stila Collage of Colour Blush Palette, that aren’t anywhere else. Stila has released certain products across certain countries and I haven’t seen this particular palette anywhere else at all, even in the US. It’s £15 HERE.
This has to be the nail fan’s ultimate gift… design and create your own nail polish with David Horne. Not only can you make a shade that nobody else in the world will have and that’s totally yours, but you’ll see how a nail polish goes from being an idea to a reality. It’s quite pricey at £300 but I think there are literally only ten of these experience boxes available. It’s HERE.
Do look out also for the Dior Mr Selfridge Collection; a line of Dior that you can’t find elsewhere. The nail polish in Josephine (above) is the stand-out in my view. The collection is HERE.
