[unpaid/sample] Seabody is one of those rare new brands that actually has some legs to stand on. I met the co-founder, Dr Helena MacMahon at CEW this week and was so impressed with her passion and certainty around the brand and its ingredients that I wanted to drop it in here as something of note, even though I have only surface tested it. In a brief post, the science is very demanding so I will just give the top line and that is an ingredient called Fucoidan. As you might guess from the name, Seabody Skin Care is seaweed based, and yes, we’ve heard this before. But the extraction of Fucoidan is the element of difference here, and it’s associated with being the power behind seaweed’s incredible resilience. More importantly, it’s had extensive research across global science and has peer reviewed publications attesting to its benefits.

Seabody Glycan Enrich Moisturiser Review

The product I’d recommend you start with is the Glycan Enrich Moisturiser that contains the ingredient MaraFucoidan – a bioactive found within the cell walls of brown seaweeds. It’s anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbal and soluble in water which is important for formulations because of that versatility element. It also includes (vegan) algal oil, ceramides, squalane, vitamins C and E and Niacinamide.  I’m very tempted by their supplements but they’re just a bit too expensive for me at £40 a month (I already take a number of supplements so I’m not willing to add yet another monthly fee to the bill!). In texture it’s somewhat cooling, very loose and easy to work into the skin and trust me, a little goes a very long way.

Seabody Glycan Enrich Moisturiser Review

There’s clearly work to be done on the website and I’d like to see more elements included – more beauty layman’s terms for a start and less focus on the predictable ‘lines and wrinkles’ and more on the glow and skin health element. 25ml is £34 HERE.  If you’re looking to change up your day cream, Seabody is a good place to start.
