Fleur de Figuier

If you picked up the latest BBBDreamBox, included is a tiny phial of the new Fleur de Figuier EDP from Roger & Gallet. It isn’t even launched in stores yet, it’s so shiny and new, so if you got the box, you’re the first to experience this. The fragrance itself – fresh and all kinds of fruity – isn’t new, but Roger & Gallet are known for their fragrant waters, and an EDP (eau de parfum) is new territory. The difference, as you might imagine, is in the intensity. Whereas the floral waters are spritzes of cooling, gentle scent, the EDP is at fuller strength for fragrance that lasts all day without needing refreshing.

I always have a Roger & Gallet product around – whether it’s cologne wipes, hand cream or an eau fraiche, this brand is always in my house! Actually, at EDP strength, Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier EDP started off a little too sweet for me, but didn’t take long to lose the sugary edges and become more green – I can genuinely pick out the fig leaf notes and there’s some grapefruit and mandarin in there too. For use, I’d say go lightly at first until you find the intensity you like – I was a little too over-generous, being more used to the waters when I first tested it, so don’t make the same mistake unless you really, really love fig leaves!

So, not only is it rather exciting to literally launch a new product within the BBB Box, but Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier EDP is a beautiful fragrance that sits well in any season. I’m also hoping they’ll start intensifying the other floral waters, too. Anyway, it launches into Marks & Spencer on 26th March. I’ll update this post as soon as a get a price.
