At first I wasn’t all that excited about the selection from Rimmel for 2014, but I’ve changed my mind because at £2.99 each they’re brilliant value and the shades are definitely reflecting the hot trends from more premium brands. Apparently, nail sales are down and I can believe it – the fervour for nail art has died down and we’re back to a more classic look. The collection above, with its creamy, tropical colours is spot on.
So, the line up is (going clockwise) Hot Tropicana, Fancy a Dip?, It’s A Scorcher, No Tan Lines Here and Get It While It’s Hot. My favourites are the oranges; It’s A Scorcher has a shimmer to it and the milkiness of No Tan Lines Here is like tangerine ice-cream. Gorgeous.. and it’s put me in a summery mood! These launch on 22nd January.

I really like the blue and coral shades, I think I might have to buy these when they come out 🙂

Nail sales are down? My mother just bought a piano stool to house half of our collection! I’d say that Rimmel are lagging a little behind Maybelline, Bourjois and Barry M though who have upped their nail game with more limited colours and textures. Rimmel also has a tendency to release the same or very similar colours in a couple of their finishes.
