Uh-oh. I’ve just tested out Rimmel Apocalips – if you look at the swatches on my arm you’ll see they’re really glossy and intense. I can’t knock the product at all for intensity, but I’m afraid that within the hour the gloss has disappeared altogether and my lips are starting to feel bone dry.

There is also quite a lot of transference (which personally, I think looks very pretty on a wine glass, but it’s a total no-no unless you want to give someone the ultimate snog-face) which I didn’t expect. The pigment has stayed and is losing colour slightly toward to the centre of the lip only, but there is not a jot of sheen left. I actually had to check the release to see if it was supposed to be a matte formula – I think it is supposed to be satin.

If you suffer from dry-lip, pass on this but if you’re prepared to make the wow impact – because it is such strong pigment it does create wow lips – and the many touch-ups that will need, they’re £5.99 each from January 23rd.
