It’s times like this when I really wish I wore mascara! The next generation lash growth enhancers are in full flow now and these newbies from Revlon look extra special. Plumping Mascara has a strengthening formula in the form of a phyto-peptide complex to condition and ‘compliment’ their natural growth cycle and the mascara claims to volumise 200% – I can’t prove it one way or the other because of my lash extensions but if it works, wow! The mascara is £9.99 from August. But it’s the liners that are a first for the UK at least and more interesting to me. Applying them close to the lash line effectively coats the base of the lashes. It’s a conditioning formula that promises to nourish and hydrate.

Revlon are being quite careful in what they’re claiming.. phrases like ‘supporting healthy lashes’ and ‘helping to appear’ aren’t exactly saying they’ll make your lashes grow longer or faster, but the very existence of conditioners in mascara and liners will of course, keep lashes in better nick. The liners have wheat gum glucenides and aloe and come in shades Onyx, Espresso and Emerald, £6.29 from August.
