Renew + Me Review

AD As I’ve mentioned probably too many times, I have so much choice when it comes to skin care. It’s a perk of the job but trust me, I get as confused as the next person with claims and grand statements about what products can do. My first task when looking at any skin care is to do my level best to bypass the marketing as much as I can and just get down to the fundamentals of how it’s going to help your skin.  Even before research and accumulated knowledge, the best way to do this is to try it myself and obviously I only have one face to it’s rare for me to knuckle down and do that because it takes around about three months for long term effects to show. Shorter term effects are easier to report, and for some, that might be enough.

I worked with Renew + Me last year with their Serum-in-a-Cream on the proviso that I’d try it for two months and guess what? I used it far, far longer because I liked it so much. It’s one of the easiest face products to use because it kind of just does everything you need it to and you really don’t have to think much further about it.

We all know that collagen declines as we age but what we don’t know, and can never know, is the strength of the ingredients we are using to boost it back up again (I’m coming back to this relevant point – bear with..). Renew + Me use an expert dermatology team to make bespoke formulas (fill in the form – it’s easy – and send a picture because they’re doing it properly) specific to your skin needs and concerns and that’s age appropriate. The reason that I feel the active ingredients are the correct strength is because all the things I was promised happened, and for me, happened more quickly than I was expecting. It takes 8 weeks for Renew + Me to speed up your cell turnover and make it more efficient so that things can actually start happening.

One of Renew + Me’s big claims was that after 12 weeks, my hyperpigmentation would start to be addressed with the complex specific to me but I can tell you that happened before the three month mark. I am not bothered about hyperpigmentation but if I’m told it will be addressed, I certainly want to see that, and I did. I had a brown mark on my cheek that was so perfect for testing the claim and indeed, it reduced to the point that I really didn’t even think about it anymore. I remember saying to my friend Genevieve that my skin was ‘perfectly hydrated’ all of the time – it felt in harmony, is the best way to put it. And that’s one cream, used at night. I definitely had smooth and glowy skin – I would say after two or three weeks – that was above and beyond how my complexion normally looks.

The packaging and bottles have had a glamorous make-over but my personalized formula still has my name on it which is a touch I’m pleased that Renew + Me kept when they redesigned – one twist and you get exactly the right daily amount of Serum-In-A-Cream. I recommended Renew + Me strongly after trying it and I still feel I can do that, especially for anyone who feels overwhelmed by the amount of choice in the crowded skin care market. It’s a way to unclutter your brain and release it from thinking about what your skin needs, because what your skin needs, it will get. If it wasn’t my job to try different products, would I still be using Renew + Me? Yes, without a doubt. In fact, I was very reluctant to give it up in the first place and still dip in between product testing – these are unusual circumstances I know, but all this brings me round to saying that if you’d like to give it a try, I have a code BBGLOW that means you can get your first month’s Serum In A Cream for £6.99 (saving £28 – and if you’re happy with Serum-In-A-Cream ongoing is £34.99 for a month’s supply) HERE.
