Even though this gem doesn’t launch til February, it’s one to put on your beauty list. REN Instant Firming Beauty Shot really does deliver. Although I absolutely hate the name – Keep Young & Beautiful (just a reminder here… beauty and youth don’t necessarily go hand in hand.. you can be beautiful at any age so it’s disappointing when brands forget that) the serum is a power-house of hyaluronic that gives skin an instant surge of moisture.
It feels slightly tacky when you first put it on but give it a minute or two and your skin will feel and look all kinds of smooth. Don’t expect anything too radical – the results are subtle but definitely there. It’s one of those indefinable results that you just look better for but probably couldn’t see a line by line result. It’s more of an over-all ‘bettering’ if you want your skin to look that bit perkier.
REN is extremely lucky with its formulator – one of the very best in the beauty business; I’m more likely to take note of a product when I know she is behind it because they’re always results driven. Given that the REN One Minute Facial is one of my 2014 Products of The Year (post coming next week) it’s a brand that does deliver and very rarely disappoints. But, get over the age-shaming! It’s time to celebrate women of all ages, not imply that youth is the answer to everything.
REN Instant Firming Beauty Shot (£32) is one for the beauty cupboard when you just want to up the ante – it’s too expensive for daily use in my view as you do need to use quite a lot of product.

I wish REN would do more for sensitive skin and anti aging. Great brand, but the EverCalm range is very limited and nothing really anti aging.
I received in a goodie bag from Space NK the One Minute Facial but have to be very careful using it as my cheeks go red after use. I don’t even keep it on one minute. Wish they would do a sensitive version.
Sounds fabulous! Such a shame about the ‘young and beautiful’ branding!

Did it do any firming?
It was more smoothing I think than firming but my skin looked more toned, I would say. But, you know.. this is never going to give huge results.. it’s subtle – more of a you-on-a-good-day type thing x
