[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I never pass up the opportunity to test a new lip balm and I’ve been a bit tardy in getting round to Raybalm’s SPF50 Lip Screen but here we are and I have to say I was smitten straight away.
If I’m honest, I don’t use a daily lip SPF, although I do use balms daily, but when the sun is high, it’s such a sensible idea to do so. For a start, if you’re someone who is generally prone to dry lips, sun and wind really won’t help, and then of course, come winter, central heating is there to get you so it’s a never win situation. In winter, you probably don’t, unless you live somewhere sunny, need daily lip SPF, especially if you wear lipstick, but as a precaution, it’s always wise.
Raybalm has a very nice ingredient list – the SPF component is Octocrylene and Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate – with the leading ingredient being castor seed oil. Following those are shea butter, sunflower seed oil, cocoa butter, jojoba and avocado oil. It’s a loose balm that feels light on the lips and it’s oh so glossy! If you like shine, you’ll love this. I checked the ingredient list in case there are some extra light reflectors in there because it’s SO shiny but can’t see any. Saying that, I don’t know every single ingredient name off by heart. As with any sun product, reapply regularly.
Raybalm uses orange oil for natural flavour so it’s actually pleasant (can we ban minty balms?) and it’s a vegan formula. If it’s a hot day, please give the tube a quick shake before applying – I noticed that it came runny until I shook it up and gave it more body. This can happen with any oil based products. Raybalm is £5.99 HERE.
