r.e.m. Beauty Starlet Liquid Eyeshadow Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I did a recent Instagram post featuring these products and had completely forgotten that r.e.m. is Ariana Grande’s brand. What did strike me though is how ‘holiday’ these make up items are. Even if you don’t take a lot of make up with you when you go away, these have enough of a light touch to be both special and just enough, especially in that gorgeous mediterranean light.

Starting with Starlet Liquid Eyeshadow in Fembot – this has nothing of the sting that I normally expect with shimmery liquid shadows. I used a concealer brush to apply to my lids, taking the product off the wand because I find it easier to do that way. The shade Fembot is a kind of lavender/pink/grey in the bottle but more pink when it gets on the lid. It’s very, very shimmery – so pretty and light catching – and you hardly need any at all to get glimmering lids. There are 8 shades in the Starlet line up.

This is Essential Drip (ew) Glossy Balm in Strawberry Soda – what I like about this, apart from the hyaluronic acid element, is that despite looking bright, it’s not. It’s the perfect combination of translucent but detectable colour, high shine and lip care. The only thing that I’m not a fan of is the very vanilla fragrance.

Here’s how they look under scrutiny.

And here’s how they look on. I realise I haven’t caught the shimmer very well – hard to get on a grey London morning – but I like the way that the liquid shadow has brightened my lids at least. Essential Drip is £15 and Fembot Liquid Shadow is £19 HERE.
