With Louboutin Beaute and Gucci Beauty just around the corner, designers and beauty are totally trending. So, Preen’s collaboration with Nails Inc is beautifully timed.

There are four shades (I’m missing a dinky baby blue shade) in the range – one of which is square glitter. That’s like a square balloon or something but looks really striking as a mix of all the gloss colours and means it can go over any of them.

The pink shade is the most interesting – kind of a dirty candy pink that’s more sophisticated and edgy than flat baby pink. These will be available at Nailsinc.com from the end of the month and then rolling out into stores from June. The Preen team, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, have taken inspiration from ice-creams melting on a sunny day. I can only think of blue tongues.

I keep staring at it, but I just can’t make up my mind about whether I love or hate the square glitter. It’s certainly different!
Love the colours…really don’t like the glitter. I think, as a teacher, it reminds me too much of the squares of paper we cut out to make collages!
