Philosophy

Whew… it’s days like these that I really, really love my day job. First of all I nipped to the re-introduction of Philosophy who were bought by Coty some time back and they’ve taken over the PR. It was great to see everything laid out so beautifully and a good reminder of what’s available other than Gingerbread Man Bubble Bath which seems forever lodged in my head as Philosophy no matter what time of year! The joy of these events is that they are presented in such a way that everything looks absolutely at its best so you get to see creative presentation methods and everything all shiny. The flip side of this is that brands never really look so shiny in the shops (unless it is behind a glossy counter) and if you’re a beauty writer it’s almost a duty to go to Boots or wherever to see it in situ and get the consumer experience as well. I do like Philosophy as a brand but find myself far more drawn to the body care rather than the skincare. So here’s how it all looked:

Nice and shiny on the shelves

The new Keep The Peace range for sensitive skin launching in September/October

Some philosophies of life!

Thank You gift set.

Beautiful roses.

what is our day job!? i wish i had your day job as well, whatever it may be! the macaroons are really to die for!!

  2. I’ve never actually tried their body range though I’m always tempted by it. I used to love their cleanser, Purity Made Simple, and bought it as a treat when I first moved to London and had no money. It was really good stuff but I couldn’t afford to repurchase back then. I think it might be time to revisit!

I always think of Philosophy as just bath bubbles/body washes but I borrowed (stole) some cleanser at my Mam’s house and I was really impressed by it – she’s a huge Philosophy fan!

  4. I am just hooked on Philosophy’s Orange Jelly Bean shower gel/bath foam! It smells amazing and has lovely sparkles to it. It is very hard for a brand to create sweet and fruity smell which at the same is not annoying and more or less natural. Philosophy is really great at it – all their bathing products smell yummy and do not cause a headache.
Their Hope in a Jar facial cream for me was quite mediocre despite the high price 🙂

I’m looking forward to the sensitive skin range!

One of my favourite brands ever. Didn’t know it had changed hands… hopefully it’ll have a higher profile now. My favourites are the Grace fragrances and Purity (like the commenter above, I used to get this as a treat when I was on a low income).
