[unpaid/sample] It’s rare for me to get excited about skin care – I see so much of it and with only now and then exceptions, it all feels and looks the same. I was using And Begin (now Renew + Me) for a long time because it suited my skin so well, but I stopped because I have to, and want to, try other things. Just when I was mulling over what I’d like to try over a longer term than a day or a week, the answer landed in my lap in the form of PERS. I wrote about the PERS Glow Balm as the personification of French minimalistic chic a couple of weeks ago, which led me (yes, I basically influenced myself) to try the Rich Cream and the Light Cream. In short, I love them.
In honesty, it’s the rich cream that has stolen my heart. It’s a consistency and texture that I don’t remember coming across in a face cream before – a foot cream, yes, a hand balm, yes, but this is something different for the face. It’s a stiff feeling texture that has both the properties of a balm and a cream that feels immediately cooling on the complexion. PERS Rich Cream is a comfort cream that actually does comfort the skin without stickiness or residue – they say ‘the balm formula acts like a cosmetic bandage’ and I can’t say it any better myself. It’s rich but light, heavy but airy and the formulators should be jumping for joy at their achievement.
In the mix are peptides, allantoin (often used in healing balms and creams) and panthenol that in the longer term supports collagen and elastin and regenerates the skin but I think the thing you’ll find so gratifying is the immediacy of the comfort. My skin – after only a week – is in heaven – it loves this stuff and shows me by being glowy, soft looking and feeling and at a perfect point of hydration. I’m also using the Light Cream – it’s pleasant enough and a workhorse under make up (in fact, it makes my foundation look better) with hyaluronic acid, allantoin and panthenol.
There are several other options from PERS, including a Vitamin C Cream, a Retinol and an Eye Cream but I don’t want to commit to a single brand routine in case there’s something else I want to slip in there. Also, why complicate things – this is amour in its early stages; we can talk about an open relationship later ;-). You can find PERS Rich Cream HERE for £90 (sorry, it is expensive).
